Paris Hilton confused viewers with her ‘chicken’ runway walk for Mugler Spring Summer. VIDEO

Paris Hilton, dubbed “a new genre of celebrity,” has several hats to wear, ranging from socialite to TV personality, artist, and entrepreneur. The 42-year-old is also no stranger to the runway, having made her Spring/Summer 2024 runway debut in the Mugler show at Paris Fashion Week yesterday (2 October).

While she looked beautiful, folks couldn’t help but comment on her pretty unique gait on social media.

Prepare to be reminded of the last time you staggered into a chicken restaurant after a particularly hard night out:

The 42-year-old socialite-turned-businesswoman looked stunning in a black costume that included a long-sleeved, corset-style little dress and black shoes.

Hilton’s hair was pulled back into a low bun, and she carried a black purse.

Hilton can be seen pouting and shaking her head up and down slightly as she makes her way down the aisle, cameras flashing and riveted, looking at faces all around her as she maintains her attention firmly directed ahead.

British Vogue posted an Instagram video of Hilton starting her stroll down the runway.

“That’s hot!” says the caption. It’s a #ParisHilton takeover at #ParisFashionWeek, where she walked in the @MuglerOfficial show for her SS24 runway debut.”

Unfortunately, not everyone agrees on how ‘hot’ Hilton’s takeover was.

Many people who flocked to the post to comment on Hilton’s SS24 debut couldn’t help but notice her runway stride.

According to one Instagram user, “I walk like that when I’m drunk but trying to prove I’m not.”

“What the heck is that chicken walk all about?” said another.

“Oh my goodness,” said a third. Paris, I adore you, but your walk is dreadful.”

A fourth even claimed, “Worst fashion walk in history.”

Others, on the other hand, defended Hilton, with one user writing, “She’s going for her walk.” She’s been doing it since the ’90s, and she’ll never try to walk like a catwalk model just because she’s Paris Hilton.”

And one more theory: “I’m quite sure the walk is connected to her attire; she’s not human but rather mechanical… This is brilliant.”

Hilton isn’t the only star whose walk has been criticized on social media.

After being photographed walking down the runway in the final look for Schiaparelli’s SS24 collection by designer Daniel Roseberry, model Kendall Jenner got a barrage of cringe-worthy remarks.

Paris Hilton’s agents have been asked for comment by UNILAD.
