Susan Boyle’s performance of In the Bleak Midwinter is another level of musical masterpiece…

The AGT legend never fails to capture the festive mood. Even if you listen in January.

The America’s Got Talent star’s 2013 holiday album, Home for Christmas, is full of angelic performances of Christmas classics like “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Little Drummer Boy” that will instantly fill you with joy—but one of our favorite tracks from the album is a cover that may not be as well known: “In the Bleak Midwinter.” Tonight, Boyle performs with a rare intensity that may surprise fans.

Boyle’s “In the Bleak Midwinter” is everything but “bleak”—it’s as haunting, dramatic, and uplifting as it gets!

Boyle’s vocals soar as she showcases her flawless tone, accompanied by a lovely choir sound. It’s beautiful. Is it feasible for her to sing slightly off-key? Of course, the song’s crescendo at 2:10 will give you chills in the greatest way.

While some of the other more well-known songs on Home for Christmas may overshadow “In the Bleak Midwinter,” Boyle has never sounded better technically, and it deserves to be on your Christmas playlist next year!
