The Army Chorus honors fallen soldiers by performing a moving rendition of ‘My Girl’ on America’s Got Talent (AGT).
The America’s Got Talent (AGT) stage is frequently used to showcase genuine emotion and inspirational skill. It recently gained a deeper relevance when the 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus of the United States Army dedicated their heartfelt performance to their departed friend, Specialist Elijah Crawford.
The members of the Army’s 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus made a stunning arrival with a stage presence to match their performance. Marching in perfect harmony onto the AGT stage, the group swiftly drew the attention of both the celebrity judges and the audience.

Staff Sgt. Marcus Gilbert addressed the troops, saying, “We are from North Carolina.” We represent the 19,000 men and women who support and serve the Airborne Division.” He went on to say that their goal was to memorialize their departed comrade rather than simply win. “Last week, we lost one of our guys, Specialist Elijah Crawford. So, we’re dedicating our performance to him and all the troops that came before him.”
The band then turned their attention from their militaristic manner to a heartfelt and harmonized performance of The Temptations’ “My Girl.” The euphony carried the listener away as their magnificent voices harmonized to create an uplifting tune. A particularly remarkable high note held up till the finish of the song drew wild ovations from the audience.

Gilbert told The Fayetteville Observer that the audition took place in the spring and that he hoped the show’s viewers would love their performance. The 82nd’s debut on AGT was notable because they can deploy anywhere in the world in 18 hours.
The performance, which was both uplifting and tragic, was leaked early on social media, with the entire version expected to appear on Tuesday night’s AGT program. The announcement of the commitment had a profound impact on the audience, and the atmosphere remained high as the chorus began their song.
This homage to Specialist Crawford and all others who have gone before him was not only a heartfelt tribute but also a reminder of the sacrifices made by men and women in the military forces. As the 82nd Airborne All-American Chorus performed, their message of commemorating their fallen friend resonated with everyone.
