It’s Toby Keith again! Just two weeks after returning to the stage, Keith posted a video of himself singing on Instagram. This performance was a little different, though, as he demonstrated his karaoke prowess in the back of an Uber. Don’t worry; he performed one of his best hits flawlessly.
His Uber driver received payment for the service, and in return, he was given free admission to a show. Keith captioned the photo, “This is what happens when my Uber has a karaoke machine,” and it garnered close to 70,000 likes on Instagram before becoming much more popular on TikTok, where it garnered four million views and 575,000+ likes.

He sang “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American),” a popular song from his 2002 Unleashed album. The words of the song, which he composed on the back of a Fantasy Football sheet in about 20 minutes, were inspired by his father’s passing and the events of 9/11.
Toby Keith’s crowd, which also included his Uber driver and the few others riding along with him in the car, gave him a standing ovation (sitting, of course). It’s encouraging to see the country artist singing, laughing, and having fun again after everything he’s been through the previous two years.

Toby Keith stated he had been given a stomach cancer diagnosis in the autumn of 2021, only a year earlier. He hid the illness for as long as he could while undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, but in June 2022, he gave his fans the all-clear with a health update.
Since his blood tests have improved and his tumor has reduced by about 33%, Toby has hinted at returning to the stage during the past six months. He praises the chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and dietitian for helping him launch a musical comeback. The last time he provided an update was last month.
“In general, everything is moving in a really favorable direction. You must be ready because you never know with cancer, he said in an interview with The Oklahoman in June. I have more wind. And I’m considering setting up shop with the band and performing someplace for two or three days to see if I can make it through two hours.
Toby Keith, who hadn’t played in over a year but was hoping to soon, was getting ready for a rehearsal on June 30 in order to gauge his capacity to perform in front of an audience. Due to Toby Keith’s refusal to leave the stage, the rehearsal ultimately turned into a full-fledged performance.

He was so ecstatic that he made the decision to run it back the next day. On July 1, he performed for about 2.5 hours again after taking the stage the previous night. Both concerts were held at Hollywood Corners, a Toby Keith-owned family eatery and bar in Norman, Oklahoma.
Four days after the Fourth of July, on July 8, Toby Keith celebrated his 61st birthday, one week later. Toby Keith’s journey has been long and difficult, but he is glad to be back and eager to entertain fans once more, whether it is in the back of an Uber or in front of a boisterous audience.
