Kids have an extraordinary ability to absorb what is going on around them and surprise their parents with information they should not have.
That may be a negative thing sometimes, such as when you accidentally swear and your child repeats it endlessly. However, it may also be a wonderfully life-affirming moment that leaves parents breathless with possibilities.
Steven Converse is a Modesto, California-based guitarist. Daniel, his 2-year-old kid, is frequently there while his father is producing music at home, and he’s naturally picked up a few tunes along the way. Steven and his wife were both surprised and pleased when Daniel began singing the words to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” out of nowhere.
“To hear him, just like, memorize the words and sing them by himself was a special moment for us,” Steven told me.

Like any good musician, Steven spontaneously decided to promote Daniel’s passion for music. He invited the youngster into his music studio, put on headphones, and then joined him on the guitar while they recorded the song. Even though their objective was only to film this moment for family memories, it rapidly went viral after Steven shared it on Facebook.
“Daniel’s first attempt at the mic was when he was only 2,” Steven said on Facebook. “I begged him to sing some Elvis.” This movie is still something we watch on a daily basis in our house.”
Daniel, indeed, knows the song by heart! Before the video cuts out, the youngster sings the full first and second verses and chorus in his adorable, innocent voice. While he may not remember every single word, the music is spot-on!
For those of us who “can’t carry a tune in a bucket,” this performance is really amazing! This small child already knows how to pace himself in time with the rhythm, alter inflections for various lines, and generally do honor to this lovely song. Daniel, you did an excellent job!
Watch the video below to see Daniel in action, and please spread the word about this lovely song.
