Taika Waititi, who is in charge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, got married to Rita Ora, who is 32, in August of last year in Los Angeles, California.
Even though they got married last summer, it wasn’t until early this year that they said they were married for real. Fans did not let the lack of information stop them from guessing and making up details.
Some people said the wedding was in London, while others said it was in France. Many people thought the gathering was a fancy event full of famous people.
But in a recent interview with Vogue, the couple set the record straight, saying that it’s been “quite entertaining” to see the rumor mill go into action.
“It’s been pretty funny for us to hear all the different stories people have made up,” said Ora, who added that they were happy to keep it a secret.
“I love that we can now talk about what really happened and that we can do it on our first anniversary!”
The Thor star himself told the magazine that their wedding day “wasn’t in London or France,” putting an end to the rumors.

“It was in LA with a small group of friends,” he said. “At our home,” Ora added.
“There were about eight people there, just close friends, family, and parents on Zoom. We and my sister Elena did it,” the 47-year-old said.
Waititi also said in the interview that his 11-year-old daughter Te Kainga o te Hinekahu and his 7-year-old daughter Matewa Kiritapu, whom he has with his ex-wife Chelsea Winstanley, were also there.
“My daughters were there, and they made everything fun and easy. I think it was because we didn’t have to worry about caterers and all of these other things, like people showing up late and all of the other moving parts,” he said.
Ora also said that the day of their wedding was “very quiet” and “almost like another day.”
People say that the newlyweds met at a barbecue in 2018. However, dating rumors didn’t start until 2021, when the ‘You For Me’ singer shared a picture of the two of them on Instagram.
After a month, the famous picture of Ora, Waititi, and Marvel actress Tessa Thompson went global, which made the situation even worse.
The New Zealander talked to the Sydney Morning Herald about the photos and said, “I wasn’t doing anything wrong.
“I think that everything on the internet disappears pretty quickly. Also, “Is it that important?” Not really, no. I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s alright.”
Throughout the rest of 2021, the couple walked the red carpet together many times, including at the Los Angeles opening of “The Suicide Squad,” the Met Gala, and the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Ora went on the Heart Radio Breakfast show in January 2023 to announce that she and Waititi had gotten married.
The Poison artist said, “Yes,” when asked if she was married. We’re here. People say that everything has a reason. I’m off the market for good, people!”
