Internet users were stunned after focusing on a piece of paper held by Donald Trump as he reviewed Elon Musk’s Tesla decision at the White House.
A variety of Tesla vehicles, including electric cars and a Cybertruck, were on exhibit at the White House on Tuesday (March 11), as Trump announced his intention to show support’ for Musk’s company, which the president referred to as Musk’s ‘baby.’.
As Tesla’s stock plunged, Trump accused the ‘Radical Left’ of boycotting the firm in order to ‘attack and do harm to Elon,’ so the president replied by announcing that he would buy a ‘brand new Tesla’ as a show of faith in the company’s creator.
According to White House tapes, Trump expressed his desire to purchase one of the automobiles due to their exceptional quality. He regarded one red Tesla Model S as ‘amazing’ and was surprised at the inside, remarking, “Everything’s a computer!”
However, those more evident characteristics were not the only information Trump had on hand when inspecting the automobiles, as observant observers noted he had further details scribbled down on the piece of paper he was holding.
One photographer captured a snapshot of Trump’s materials, which included a handwritten notation at the top indicating the various pricing for Teslas.
“Tesla Pricing: Full Self Driving: “Model X – $112,490 (silver), “CT – $114,000 (gray), “Model S – $108,990 (blue), “Model Y – $59,990 (red).”
Below some further costs, the message included a phrase that seemed like a sales pitch: “Teslas may be purchased for as little as $299 per month or $35,000.” All cars have self-driving capabilities; they simply need to be enabled (for a fee).”
Trump’s thorough dissection of the cars stunned viewers, leading one Reddit user to write, “Jesus.” This is one of those photographs that appears in history books for all the wrong reasons.”
Another went so far as to call Trump a ‘literal car salesperson,’ adding, “This is extraordinary.”
One Reddit poster also stated that the president should be ‘impeached’ for utilizing ‘official White House press events to perform real ads for his rich buddies.’.
Despite his past reservations about electric vehicles, Trump told reporters at the White House that he wants to pay the full price for his Tesla. In 2023, the president told supporters in Iowa that electric vehicles ‘don’t travel far’ and ‘cost a lot.’.
The same year, he told another group, “Electric cars are good if you have a towing company.”
