Rita Marie Carr’s tale is one of self-discovery and growth.
She was completely engaged in the corporate world, working tirelessly for an engineering business in the busy metropolis of Denver, Colorado.
The high-rise apartment she called home and the daily commute to work seemed to be the only options.

But life had different ideas for her.
Rita made the courageous move of living in her Wrangler Jeep when she began working remotely.
This was a life-changing experience.
The wide road, the ever-changing vistas, and the opportunity to work from anywhere made her reconsider her prior way of life.
During this time, she came up with the notion of a more permanent mobile house.
Enter Wilbur, a lovely pink Ford minibus that Rita purchased.
She renovated this truck into a warm, individualized living area over the course of three years, on a budget of roughly $9,000 each year.
Rita used repurposed materials and hunted for bargains to make her idea a reality.
Wilbur’s various doors are symbolic of Rita’s many experiences as well as functional.

Rita chose glass panel doors when the old ones failed to endure high-speed travel.
These not only gave a contemporary flair but also blurred the distinction between inside and outdoor life.
Then there’s the distinctive side door that leads to a one-of-a-kind feature…
Rita’s outdoor shower demonstrates her appreciation for nature.
“There’s something magical about showering under the open sky,” she says frequently.
Her modest yet functional shower arrangement provides a refreshing experience whether she’s parked at a picturesque campground or finds a hidden area in the forest.
Rita’s home design selections reflect her creative spirit.
A small art studio dominates her living room, providing a haven where she can focus on her work.
While the Jeep provided independence, it did not provide space for her artistic endeavors.
She now has space to paint, create, and let her artwork dry with Wilbur, accepting the inevitable paint splatters as badges of pride.
In a small house, efficiency is essential.
Rita’s living room serves two functions.
It serves as a comfortable lounge space during the day and a nice bedroom for her and her two dogs at night.
The sofa, strategically located next to the side door, provides stunning views, making sunrise and sunset occasions to remember.
Every nook and cranny in Rita’s kitchen has a tale to tell.
It’s a combination of utility and creativity, from the two-burner stove to the hammock carrying fresh vegetables.
Her clever sink, however, is the star of the show.
Rita replaced the troublesome standard faucet system with a transparent glass jar and a rustic bucket, combining functionality with a touch of nostalgia.
While Wilbur is her home, Rita’s trip is not complete without the Wrangler Jeep.
Whether she’s going on short adventures, gathering supplies, or seeking off-road thrills, the Jeep is her go-to companion.
