‘Johnny Showcase,’ channeling his inner Marvin Gaye and singing about the complexities of marriage, brings a 70s feel to the stage. Next, Howie Mandel greets Bonavega, who enters the stage wearing a robe and flames painted over his brows.

He starts to remove the robe, revealing a sequined onesie. The audience becomes enthralled with the attire. He exits the stage, ascends the judges’ table, and parades in front of the entire audience. They are astounded by his close-up performance. He ends by soloing on an electric guitar.

The audience gives him a standing ovation for the whole performance, recognizing his intensity. Simon Cowell was so impressed that he exclaimed, “This was fun.” I am going to remember you.
