Sharon Osbourne sobbed during Lloyd Macey’s X Factor tribute to George Michael

Osbourne, who was a friend of the late artist, became visibly distraught during the Welsh contestant’s performance. Sharon Osbourne, an X Factor judge, grew so emotional during a contestant’s performance on Sunday night that she needed to be consoled by her colleague Nicole Scherzinger.

Osbourne, who was close friends with George Michael, fell into tears as Welsh singer Lloyd Macey performed his version of A Different Corner for the show’s homage to the British musician.

Scherzinger, who later told Lloyd that he had made her feel extremely emotional, couldn’t help but reach out and give Osbourne a comforting embrace as Macey pounded out his high notes.

As the performance concluded and host Dermot O’Leary turned to Osbourne for her comments, she was obviously overwhelmed, tears still pouring down her cheeks as she delivered her assessment. “It made me miss George so much,” Osbourne stated, before thanking Lloyd for his performance. Macey went on to win the night and face Saturday night’s winner, Kevin Davy White, in the Prize Fight for the opportunity to support Little Mix in concert.
