Anderson Cooper, who grappled with the notion of never having children as a gay adolescent, now finds immense joy as the proud father of two beautiful boys at the age of 54.

Reflecting on his early realization of being gay at 12, Cooper expressed the initial distress he felt, believing that parenthood would be an unattainable dream. Fast forward forty years, and he welcomed his first child, Wyatt Morgan, in April 2020. The name Wyatt pays homage to his late father, Wyatt Emory Cooper, while Morgan is a family name from his late mother Gloria Vanderbilt’s side.

Despite buying several parenting books, Cooper humorously admitted to not reading any of them before Wyatt’s arrival. Acknowledging his initial apprehensions about parenting, he found joy in the experience, receiving considerable support, especially from his ex-partner, Benjamin Maisani, who co-parents with him.

Despite their unconventional family dynamic, Cooper and Maisani have expanded their family further. During an episode of “Anderson Cooper 360,” Cooper revealed the addition of another child, Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. Sebastian, who joined the family through adoption, is welcomed with joy and love.

Cooper acknowledges the uniqueness of their situation and emphasizes the familial bond they share. He refers to Maisani as his best friend and expresses gratitude for their co-parenting relationship. Sebastian’s arrival adds another layer of happiness to their lives, and Cooper, a second-time dad, approaches parenthood with a calmer perspective.
