We’ve seen Andrea Bocelli perform on the grandest platforms. We’ve also seen him perform duets with Superstars and his own family members, including his daughter. However, the tenor singer had a particularly memorable moment when his daughter joined him on the piano.
In this lovely video, a father and daughter duet sing Beethoven’s “Ich liebe dich,” which translates to “Tender Love.” At the beginning of the film, Andrea states that they made good use of their time at home in 2020 by practicing music together.
As Andrea began singing the first word of Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Herrosee’s poem, his daughter began to play the piano like a young professional.
The video premiered on Andrea Bocelli’s official YouTube channel on May 3, 2020. “Little Virginia has been working hard for the past few weeks to fulfill her obligations,” he captioned the video.
“We now present our first duet, a jewel created long ago but which remains wonderfully current—a lied that speaks of love with infinite tenderness.”
Following the recording of this video, they went on to perform Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah together; nonetheless, this is Andrea’s daughter’s first time accompanying her father with an instrument.
