When the Phoenix Boys’ dance ensemble went to the audition stage of Britain’s Got Talent 2024, the judges were surprised to learn they had just three practices. Their swagger was palpable from the time they emerged—the lads had already made the crowd laugh by reeling off a jumbled list of where their members had been picked from, from Kent to Glasgow and Cheshire to Manchester. But they couldn’t have predicted the crazy reaction their once-in-a-lifetime tryout would get.

The judges were stunned into silence until a massive standing ovation erupted from the audience, which professional dance judge Bruno Tonioli joined.
