Rita Roeland, 65, had given up on pursuing a singing career years before, but her daughter ended up signing her up for an audition. The song Rita chose to perform on The Voice van Vlaanderen was “At Last” by Etta James.

This Belgian talent from Herzele stunned all four coaches with one of the strongest performances ever witnessed on The Voice Senior.

Rita needed some time to relax and let her voice flow freely, but once she took control of the stage, her enthusiasm for singing generated vocal brilliance that made all of the judges sit up and pay attention.

The first judge to turn was Helmut Lotti, and the next two judges did so almost simultaneously. Rita chose Team Lotti by luck, as it turned out.

Great artists like Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, and Beyoncé have covered the tune that this undiscovered singer-songwriter chose.

Rita Roeland’s The Voice Senior audition surprised everyone by demonstrating that she had a voice and range on par with the greats, rewarding listeners with an easy harmony that sounds perfect when she performs the classic song “At Last.”
