Lucy, a 13-year-old blind girl with autism, astonished viewers and moved them to tears with her perfect piano performance

According to Lucy’s mother, Candice, immediately after her birth, Lucy was diagnosed with malignant tumors in her eyes and a chromosome 16 duplication, which hampered her communication ability.

When she was a youngster, she was given a miniature piano in the hospital and became fascinated by it. “She played ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ perfectly on it,” Candice added, adding that she piqued the interest of a nurse who originally assumed the song was pre-recorded.

Claudia Winkleman hosts the show, which is judged by pop star Mika and concert pianist Lang Lang. The show features pianists performing in front of crowds at Birmingham New Street and London St. Pancras stations while the judges watch from a secret room before selecting one pianist to perform on stage at the end of each episode.

Lucy’s captivating performance wowed the crowd at Birmingham New Street station, with many recording her on their phones. Despite her sensory difficulties, which cause her to cover her ears when others praise her, Lucy appreciates the clapping. Lucy’s performance, dressed in a navy blue tulle dress with gold butterflies and a white cardigan, her hair in bunches, moved many people.

Mika and Lang Lang observed the music with wide eyes, evidently captivated by Lucy’s skill. Lang Lang acknowledged his surprise at Lucy’s ability to learn and recall the song, while Mika was left speechless and perplexed. When Lucy concluded, the audience exploded in ovation, leaving everyone dumbfounded and many in tears.

Viewers regarded the footage as gorgeous and commended Lucy’s straightforward performance, with others saying it made them smile and was uplifting to watch. A piano instructor described her experience tutoring a blind student and how it prompted her to reconsider her teaching practices.
