A 12-year-old kid, barely higher than the microphone stand, went onto the America’s Got Talent stage with wonder-filled eyes and a brave heart. Nobody anticipated much until he opened his mouth. The world paused as the first note of El Triste resonated.

His voice, sad, turned to music and hung in the air like an unexpected surprise. The judges were unable to speak due to their overwhelming emotions. There were goosebumps, gaping jaws, and a deafening quiet. And as he nailed that last, soul-shaking note, the audience erupted. It wasn’t simply talent. This was lightning in a child’s lungs. A star did not just appear; he rocked the earth he landed on.

Some individuals are so appropriately named that it appears their parents must have used a crystal ball while naming them. Angel Garcia, a 12-year-old from Los Angeles, California, is one of those individuals. The young man is a singer, and after just a few seconds of hearing him, you could assume he had the voice of an angel.

Angel appears in leaked footage from the July 10th edition of “America’s Got Talent.” The gorgeous young man walks in front of the judges and appears completely assured—unusual for someone his age—as he addresses the crowd of thousands. When asked why he is auditioning for the talent competition, he claims it is all in honor of his father, who is excitedly waiting backstage.

The first few strains of the classic Spanish-language ballad “El Triste” permeate the auditorium, and it’s evident that Angel has a lot of skill. His voice sounds much older than his age suggests. Indeed, his magnificent tenor voice appears to embody the bravery and romanticism of a real Latin lover.

The entire audience stood up to give him a standing ovation before he’d finished half of his song! This young vocalist is bound for stardom, and he appears to have a natural stage presence that weaker artists would give everything for.
