The AGT competitor brought outside performers while he performed.
The other judges, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, enjoyed it.
Howie liked it so much that he spoke up for the competitor.
However, Simon provided input that did not sit well with supporters.
He began by stating that he did not believe John’s wife would be pleased when she watched his performance back.

The audience booed him before moving on to Heidi’s comments.
Simon was disappointed with John’s performance and buzzed him halfway through.

Earlier in the program, presenter Terry Crews chastised Howie for a disparaging remark regarding Sofia’s divorce.
Brynn Cummings is a 12-year-old ventriloquist from Michigan who appeared on last night’s broadcast.
Her performance focused on her puppet, a pink skunk, and her desire to find love.
Brynn had a large folder full of potential puppet partnerships that her skunk could fall for.
Heidi, age 50, and the audience assisted Skunk and Brynn in selecting a suitor from the binder.
After the act, Howie, 67, became the first AGT judge to comment, confirming that the skunk’s new hunk was a lovebird.
He went on: “You’re adorable, and you blend magic and ventriloquism, and you deserve to be here.”
The former presenter of the games program continued, saying, “If I had one piece of advice for anyone looking for an eligible bachelor, it would be to talk to Sofia, as she is currently available.”
Terry, the show’s 55-year-old presenter, cut it off immediately, shrieking at Howie, “No! “We are not doing that,” he said, before changing the subject.
Sofia, 51, laughed with Howie, lifted her arms in excitement, and yelled, “Yes!” without seeming bothered.
Several followers on X, now known as Twitter, chastised Howie for the “low blow” to Sofia.
