A guy who successfully sued his employer for r%cial d$scrimination alleges he was d&scriminated against again… when trying to bank checks.
Sauntore Thomas, an Air Force veteran from Michigan, said he was ‘humiliated’ when the bank summoned the cops to interview him because they suspected the checks were bogus.
He subsequently filed a second complaint against the bank, claiming, “They d^scriminated against me because I am Black.” None of this would have occurred if I were white.”

His lawyer, Deborah Gordon, said it was a typical example of ‘banking while Black,’ telling ABC News, “I just think they saw this guy, a Black guy in jeans, and they were like, ‘What was he doing with his money?'”
I think my client is African American, and that’s the only reason I can think of.
“They never explained as to why the police were called, and they never offered an explanation that made any sense as to why they thought the checks were fraudulent.”
Though the bank apologized for the apparent error, Thomas filed the lawsuit in 2020, seeking an unknown amount in compensation and punitive damages.
