Because a dying patient had no one to leave his dog with, the nurse decided to step in

A Georgia nurse tried her best to care for not just a patient in her last days but also her dog.

Because the dying patient had no one to leave her dog with, the nurse stepped in.

Kimberly Still met her family and got to know her pet chihuahua, Jax, while caring for the dying patient.

She still realized how much she loved Jax after hearing what the patient had to say. Unfortunately, Jax had nowhere to go once the patient died.

The dog wound up in an asylum outside of Atlanta, where it faced euthanasia.

When Still discovered the truth, she realized she had to act quickly.

“The only thing she possessed in her life was this puppy, whom she adored and had been with for many years,” Still said to Inside Edition.

And I thought to myself, ‘Well, I’ve got to go grab that dog.”

And I thought to myself, ‘Well, I’ve got to go grab that dog.”

She still wanted to remove Jax from the orphanage and place him in a loving home.

Although she was aware that the dog would not be content until it found the right home, she had no idea that the perfect home would be hers.

She couldn’t live without it after meeting Jax. She fell in love with Jax right away and realized she had to adopt him herself.

Adopting Jax was her ultimate gesture of kindness for the patient she had so lovingly cared for.

She is now responsible for her patient’s pet dog for the remainder of its life.

She did, however, bring Jax home and introduce it to her other dog. Fortunately, they quickly became friends, and Jax fit in well with their family.
