Daughter of Sissy Spacek Refused to Play Her Mother’s ‘Carrie’ Role in Remake. Just see the reason…

Schuyler Fisk did not accept the offer to play one of the most iconic parts that her mother had played in a film sequel.

The singer and actress, who co-stars with Spacek in the new film Sam & Kate, recently admitted to Yahoo!

Entertainment that she was previously approached to play Spacek’s Oscar-nominated character in the 1976 film Carrie; however, she declined the role. Spacek was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Carrie.

“They approached me to talk to us. I have no recollection of whose incarnation it was, but I was certain that I would play her again “said Fisk…

“Because of the myriad of elements that contributed to its improper appearance, it was never going to take place.

It is my opinion that the movie Carrie is already of such a monumental quality that it would be pointless to make any attempt to imitate it in any way.”

She went on to say, “They showed a lot of consideration by thinking about me. However, that course of action was not the correct one to take.”

Carrie White, played by Spacek, is a bullied teenager who comes to the realization that she possesses potentially lethal telekinetic abilities in the Stephen King adaptation directed by Brian De Palma.

1999 saw the release of The Rage: Carrie 2, and the following year saw the debut of the television film adaption. Chlo Grace Moretz starred in the version that was released in 2013, which was directed by Kimberly Peirce.

Fisk recalled the time, in a recent interview, when she and her family drove by a drive-in cinema that was displaying Carrie while one of her mother’s naked scenes was being shown on the screen.

“My parents tell a funny tale about when I was a young child and we were driving down an interstate, I believe in Dallas. They say that I was sitting in the backseat of the car, and we were going rather fast.

On the other hand, I’m going to guess that they were playing the shower scene from the movie Carrie at a large outdoor drive-in theater. They cried out, “Oh, God, put something over her eyes!” I’m like, ‘There’s mama!'”

Fisk said that she had not seen all of Spacek’s films, but that she had seen quite a few of them, and that despite this, she considers Spacek to be her number one fan: “I have a lot of pride in her..,

Simply said, I think that she is just remarkable. She is bright, driven, and intellectual, and she is committed to doing outstanding job. She has a strong work ethic.”

The film Sam & Kate, which was written and directed by Darren Le Gallo, is currently playing in a number of theaters across the country and will be made available on demand and digitally on November 18.
