Dolly Parton is one of the few modern artists whose songs have become classics.

The singer from Tennessee has become a legend, and even though she has been singing and performing for most of her life, she still loves putting on shows for her many fans.

Dolly Parton has always been known for the beautiful stage clothes and elaborate makeup she wears when she performs.

She has also talked about why she is never seen in public without what she calls her “public look.”

We’re glad we did some research and found pictures of her without as much makeup as she usually wears. And, wow, do they show how real and natural her beauty is…

Here’s everything you need to know about Dolly Parton, a great country music singer.

She was born in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, on January 19, 1946. She was one of 12 kids and grew up near the Great Smoky Mountains in Locust Ridge. They didn’t have much money. Money was a problem, as you might guess.

Dolly Parton’s early years

But music began to bring her family closer together. As a young child, Parton sang in church, which helped her learn more about music. Her mother played the guitar and sang.

“Music was such a big part of our whole family,” Parton said. Everyone in my mom’s family could play an instrument. All of them played music in some way.

I was very serious about music, so I always played along on whoever’s instrument was lying around or when my relatives came to visit. But I have always liked the guitar.

Dolly’s uncle gave her a guitar in the end. Soon after that, she started making her own songs.

She started singing on TV and radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee, when she was 10 years old. Then, when she was 13, she started singing on Grand Ole Opry, a popular country radio station, and made about $20 a week.

Music and family are very important to the Partons. In reality, her family members were the ones who pushed her to get better at music.

Located in Nashville

Parton was the first person in her family to get a diploma from high school. But when she was 18, she decided to give up everything else and focus on her singing career.

Then Dolly went to Nashville, which is where most country music is made.

She said, “I had a dream. And I thought I was good at something. I also had a strong feeling that it would happen.

Dolly became famous very quickly in Nashville. She worked with Porter Wagoner on The Porter Wagoner Show. The two of them quickly became well-known.

Parton and Wagoner worked together on several country hits, and she soon got a contract with RCA Records.

Parton’s first No. 1 country single, “Joshua,” came out in 1971. After that, she had a string of other hits. “Jolene” was one of them, of course.

In the late 1960s, when she often signed autographs for fans after her TV shows, Parton had the idea.

Parton said, “I was on stage one night, and there was this beautiful young girl who was about 8 years old at the time.

“She had beautiful red hair, great skin, and beautiful green eyes. She was looking up at me and, you know, holding out for an autograph.

“Well, you must be the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen,” I told her. So, may I ask you your name?’ And she said Jolene’s name. And I repeated, ‘Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene. ‘

I think it turned out well. That could be turned into a song with little trouble. I’m going to write a song I’ve been thinking about.”

The lyrics, on the other hand, were inspired by a bank teller who liked Parton’s husband.

Parton said. “That woman really liked my husband. He liked going to the bank because she paid him so much attention.

As a joke between us, I used to say, “Hell, you spend a lot of time at the bank.” “I don’t think we’re that rich.” In other words, the song is completely innocent, even though it sounds bad.

The song “Jolene” only has 200 words. But it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the 20th century.

Dolly Parton’s song got to No. 1 on the charts and was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Female Country Vocal Performance (both studio and live versions).

Jolene was also ranked No. 217 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time,” which came out in 2004.

Here You Come Again helped her win her first Grammy in 1977, and it wasn’t long before she had more hits.

In the 1980s, Dolly went into movies, which helped her reach a wider audience.

She was in the 1980 hit comedy 9 to 5 with Jane Fonda, and she also wrote music for the movie’s soundtrack.

She kept acting in movies after that, and in 1986 she opened Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is an amusement park.

Dolly says that she has written more than 3,000 songs in her life. She also won an amazing eight Grammy Awards, was number one on the country charts twenty-five times, and sold more than 100 million albums.

And it doesn’t look like she’s going to slow down.

In 2016, Parton told BBC, “I come up with a couple song titles or a nice melody almost every day.”

“I’m 16 in some ways.” I still believe in love at heart. My soul and mind, on the other hand, are both 35. My life was at its best when I was 35.

I was successful, happy, and everything in between. So, I decided to take that number as my own and always think of myself that way.

In 1964, Dolly and Carl Dean met for the first time outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nashville, Tennessee.

At the time, Dolly was 18 and Carl was 21. Carl could tell right away that there was something different about the young woman.

In May 1966, Dolly and Carl got married in a secret ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia. Her record label told them to put off getting married so she could focus on her career.

Dean and Dolly didn’t want to wait, though, so they decided to get married in Georgia instead of Tennessee so that the local news wouldn’t write about it.

The only people who came to the event were Dolly, Carl, and Dolly’s mother.

Carl Dean and his wife never walk the red carpet together at award ceremonies or charity events, though.

When his wife was 20 and won her first award for writing a song, he did it for her. But that was the end of it.

Parton once said, “I don’t even remember what we were driving at the time, but after dinner they gave us our car, so we got in it and drove home.”

“Carl turned to face me and said, “Dolly, I want you to have whatever you want, and I’m happy for you, but don’t ever ask me to go to another one of those stupid things again.” ”

Dolly has been in show business her whole life, so having the support of her one true love has been helpful.

Carl and Dolly, on the other hand, chose not to have children. Why? Simply put, it wasn’t a good match.

In a 2020 interview with RuPaul for Marie Claire, Parton said that she loves to be “street ready.” This means that she should do her hair and makeup ahead of time, just in case.

“I have to always be ready, or street-ready, as I always say,” the country queen said. I have to keep my hair and makeup looking good.”

Parton went on to say, “If it’s going to shake, and if it does, I’m not going to run out into the street looking like you do now. If I get sick or something else, I always have to be ready to call an ambulance.

Dolly Parton said that even though she always wants her hair and makeup to look nice, she has no trouble loving her natural beauty and body.

“I’m completely happy in my own skin. Parton said, “I’m happy with how I look, and I dress for myself more than anyone else.” “I’m not trying to make myself different.”

Dolly Parton is beautiful even when she doesn’t have a lot of makeup on, and we like seeing pictures of her in her natural state.
