Dyan Cannon’s age is no barrier to having a good time!

The actress attended the 10th Annual Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday, April 6, and spoke with PEOPLE about her current dating possibilities.

When asked if she was dating right now, Cannon, 88, said emphatically, “Of course.”

The Heaven Can Wait actor stated that it is “somebody exceptional,” before adding, “Several special [people]…” “Yes, I have friends with benefits.”

Cannon also reminisced on her previous romance with Johnny Carson. Last month, CBS Sunday News broadcast a series called The Hidden Side of Johnny Carson, which focused on the TV legend’s life and the two stars’ connection. It also reviewed Cannon’s presence on his show.

Cannon told PEOPLE at the Sunday event, which honors talent in hair, makeup, photography, and styling for cinema, TV, music, the red carpet, and editorial, that she hasn’t stopped hearing about the special since.

“I’ve been hearing a lot about Johnny Carson,” the actress stated. “It is on a lot.” They are running it, running it, running it.”

Cannon said she’s especially enjoying the attention the TV special is getting since she “rattled” Carson, who died in 2005 at the age of 79, when she appeared on his program.

“I liked how I rattled him. We enjoy it when we rattle folks who aren’t often rattled, don’t we?” Cannon revealed it, before adding that the couple kept their relationship a secret while dating. “He loved it. He adored it. We used to go to restaurants, and they would close the entire establishment for him.”

“He was a special man,” she explained. “I’ve known many exceptional men. And there’s more to come.

Aside from her cinematic career, which includes Oscar-nominated performances in 1969’s Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and 1978’s Heaven Can Wait, Cannon is also a filmmaker and stage actor. She is also recognized for her parts in TV shows such as Full Circle in the early 1960s and Ally McBeal in the late 1990s.

She also had a high-profile marriage with Cary Grant from 1965 until 1968. Jennifer Grant, the couple’s only child, was born in 1966. Cannon later married lawyer and real estate investor Stanley Fimberg in 1985, but the couple separated in 1991.
