The film covers John’s career over several years, from his iconic performance at Madison Square Garden in 1974 until his final concert at Dodger Stadium in 2022. It also depicts private moments he shared with Furnish, whom he married in 2014 after meeting in 1993. Their boys, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, were born through a surrogate.

Dealing with Death.

Although the “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” singer has achieved immortality in the industry, he is conscious of his own fate and shares his son’s fear that he might pass away soon.

In the film, John speaks of Zachary and Elijah, saying, “They think about my death.” They’re terrified I’ll die.

John then goes on to say of Furnish, who assists in raising the boys, “It’s not so much David, but me.” Our “Sad Songs” performer continues: “Their boys love their dad, so they want me to be here forever, and I would love to be here forever.” Aww.

Furnish, meanwhile, claims that witnessing scenes concerning his own death gave his famous spouse “a lot of anxiety.”
