Fans of Zac Efron will notice that the actor’s face has changed significantly since his high school musical days, although he has not undergone plastic surgery.

In recent years, the rumor mill has been spinning with speculation over Efron’s jawline, with many doubting if he had undergone surgery or had filler injected into his face to alter his look.

Doubts have resurfaced in the wake of his latest film, A Family Affair, which debuted on Netflix.

In the film, Efron portrays the pompous movie star Chris Cole, who finds up courting his intern’s mother [Nicole Kidman].

Since its debut, several viewers have claimed to be ‘distracted’ by Efron’s different-looking visage, raising the question of why it altered.

However, the 36-year-old actor’s broader and stronger-looking jawline is not new.

Over a decade ago, Efron sustained a major injury at home that resulted in a cracked jaw.

In 2013, he was jogging around his house in socks when he stumbled and fell face-first into a granite fountain.

Efron’s jaw bone was hanging off his face after the incident, and he had to have it wired shut.

While many people are aware of his mishap, the actor continues to face inquiries regarding plastic surgery rumors.

Efron discussed his upcoming AppleTV movie, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, with Entertainment Tonight.

The reporter asked him about the plastic surgery rumors: “What do you make of the speculation online?”

“I don’t read the internet,” Efron explained. “That was funny. It sucked. “I almost died,” he added, referring to his 2013 tragedy.

His jaw appears wider because, according to Efron, other muscles in his face had to work harder to compensate for his horrific injury.

He was still going through physical therapy to try and fix it by 2022.
He told Men’s Health that he had to break from treatment while filming the second season of Down to Earth with Zac Efron in Australia, saying, “The masses just grew.” They just became incredibly large.”

While Efron’s appearance has changed, I believe we can all agree that he is still quite attractive.
