The Voice Australia’s Battle Rounds have concluded, with 28 candidates moving on to the Knockouts to compete for the ultimate prize. However, the singing competition took an unexpected turn on Sunday night, when Leann Rimes startled her other coaches by storming off stage while deciding between vocalists Brad Butcher and Tori Darke.
Tori and Brad performed a stunning country rendition of Bryan Adams’ classic ‘Please Forgive Me,’ leaving Leann clearly distressed when asked to select who would advance to the knockout round. As Sonia and the singers waited on stage, Leann muttered, ‘I don’t like this,’ before standing up and going away.
Guy Sebastian, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Adam Lambert all appeared shocked in their coach’s chairs, as did Sonia Kruger, who was on stage.
LeAnn Rimes quickly walked away, torn between Tori and Brad.
Following a brief backstage discussion with a producer, Leann approached the set, declaring her inability to choose between Tori and Brad, and inquired if they would be open to collaborating. “You don’t have to,” Leann responded to the overwhelming request. “Obviously, this is entirely up to you, but if you don’t decide to proceed as a pair, I’ll have to make a decision and send one of you home today.” As everyone watched in amazement and suspense, Sonia instructed Brad and Tori to take a moment to determine what they wanted to do. After a brief conversation, they decided to proceed together to the Knockout rounds, much to Leann’s delight.
They put Tori and Brad on the spot and asked if they wanted to stay together as a team or risk having one of them removed.
Fans were largely excited by the unexpected decision, believing the couple would make ideal singing partners.”That was so obvious,” one admirer commented. “Harmonies on point.”

Tori took to social media to express her joy at having Brad by her side going forward.
