Raise your hand if you like James Taylor. Relax; I hear you yelling, «Me! Me! Me!» With a musician as venerable as James Taylor, there are bound to be many younger Music Man readers who have never heard of him.

My objective is to provide enough knowledge for everyone to appreciate the videos, so devoted fans, please bear with me if the background I provide is «potted,» and other readers, please accept that Taylor is a singer, composer, and guitarist who is well regarded by his peers.

Taylor has received several honors, including admission into the R&R Hall of Fame (2000), the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France, 2012), and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (the highest civilian award in the United States, 2015). He has six Grammys and was named MusiCares Person of the Year in 2006 (a Grammy-sponsored award).
