“Unlove You,” a new solo track by Jennifer Nettles, has captured the attention of country music and is currently making its way up the Billboard country charts. Nettles’ next solo album, Playing with Fire, will release the song as its lead single on May 13.

“Unlove You” is gaining even more traction owing to its stunning new music video. Nettles debuted the video on March 13, and it has already received accolades for the wonderful manner in which it depicts the message of the song.

“Unlove You” portrays the narrative of a lady torn between being faithful to her marital vows and breaking them to follow the topic of her passion. Even though she still loves her husband, the narrator cannot stop loving her new boyfriend, singing, “We know it ain’t right/This is going nowhere/If I’m with you, I don’t care/Take me nowhere tonight.”

In the music video, Nettles’ character reflects on her marriage while sitting in a pub, extending the scenario from “Unlove You.” Eventually, her boyfriend enters the bar, and as they begin speaking, Nettles’ wedding ring falls off her hand, symbolically breaking her vows.

Everything in the music video is spectacular, from Nettles’ bright red attire to a sequence of underwater scenes featuring her character and her partner. The video also highlights Nettle’s acting abilities, as her facial expressions vividly portray the emotions behind each line in the song.
