Joanna Gaines’s son has a heartwarming relationship with his paternal grandfather.
In a video that the founder of Magnolia Journal shared on Instagram on Monday, her son Crew, who is just four years old, patiently crafts a birthday card for his father Chip Gaines on an index card and explains what each word says to his mother.
“I truly love you and I hope you want to go fishing,” he says as he drags his finger around the page as he “reads.” “I adore you, Dad.” “I really love you and I hope you want to go fishing.” ” He does not pause. “I love you, Dad, and I hope we’ll get the chance to go fishing together sometime soon.”
“I love you Dad. He stopped for a moment before continuing, “I genuinely hope I want to go fishing with you.” ”
Joanna said in the photo’s caption, “We certainly adore you @chipgaines, Happy Birthday!”
The Fixer Upper actress, who is 44 years old, is also the mother of four children: sons Duke and Drake, ages 14 and 17, and daughters Emmie and Ella, ages 12 and 16.
In an interview that took place earlier this month, Joanna addressed the importance of cultivating a “vulnerable” relationship with her children in order to build a strong bond with them.
She revealed, “I always assumed that, as the mother, I should know the answers.” [Citation needed] “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that the more humanity these children perceive in me, the stronger our link will be. This is something that I’ve realized as I’ve gotten older.”

The two of them got together to celebrate Ella’s sixteenth birthday a month ago. They hung a “sweet sixteen” banner over the kitchen table and filled the living room and dining room with colorful balloons as decorations for the family’s celebration.
