Miss Tres, a trio of Filipinas, made a spectacular entrance on Britain’s Got Talent, stepping onto the stage in elegant silver outfits like they were strolling a runway. They confided in Simon Cowell that they aspired to be like the Spice Girls or Destiny’s Child. They did, however, allude to a “surprise” for everybody. When the music began, they sang a loud baritone rendition of Tom Jones’ “Sex Bomb” in place of “Baby One More Time.”
Miss Tres, 35–43, has a knack for holding an audience’s attention. The trio’s performance delighted Judge David Walliams in particular, and when they started singing, the entire audience cheered. They performed hip-hop dances, alternated lead vocals, and had flawless harmonies. Their rich voices honored the hit song by Tom Jones.
With 56 million views, the unusual audition was a big hit with home viewers and solidified Miss Tres’s status as Britain’s Got Talent aristocracy. They rose to become one of the show’s all-time top 24 most-liked artists. The three performers received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic live crowd.
“Were you hiding a little secret from us at the beginning?” Cowell teased the quintet after their performance. A participant retorted, “You know what, Simon?” before abruptly lowering her voice and exclaiming, “Surprise!” With outstanding acclaim, Amanda Holden said, “The voices were fantastic.” You look fantastic. In their appearance on Asia’s Got Talent, Miss Tres’ video had 35 million views.
