I believe duets are vastly underappreciated. While I appreciate a superb solo performance, two individuals can achieve a depth that no other method can express. Singing together is one of the best sounds. However, this particular performance is even more unique because it is a ballad between a mother and son!

Jamie, 15, had auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent expecting to travel alone, but he decided a few days before the audition that he couldn’t do it. Rather than backing out, he sought his mother’s assistance. Mel’s day job involved singing in nursing homes, so she gladly consented. And the outcome was spectacular.

Before the song, the judges notice the lovely relationship between the two. With an amazing voice, Jamie begins singing “Say Something” by A Great Big World. When Mel joins him in harmony, the performance elevates!
