Prince William receives an adorable ‘Before and After’ Father’s Day tribute from George, Charlotte, and Louis

Prince William is being celebrated on Father’s Day.

On Sunday, June 15, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, took over the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account and shared a touching homage.

The first of the two photos in the post showed Prince William with his arms around the youngsters as they posed for a shot under what seemed to be a cherry tree. The second photo captures a lighthearted moment when the kids piled on top of him while they lay on the floor.

“Happy Father’s Day, Papa (before and after)! We adore you! The post was titled “G, C & L 💖.”

Josh Shinner, a photographer who has previously photographed the Princess of Wales, was tagged in the post.

The photos looked to be shot on the same day as the photographs for Louis’ seventh birthday.

The touching Father’s Day greeting was sent following a significant family appearance the day before at Trooping the Colour.

On Saturday, June 14, the Prince and Princess of Wales went out with their three children to see King Charles’ birthday parade. Trooping the Colour is a 265-year-old yearly custom in which the seven regiments of the British Army’s Household Division gather for a festive military march to commemorate the British monarch’s official birthday.

The event represented Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children’s second significant appearance as a family this year, following their unexpected appearance at the national commemorations for the 80th anniversary of VE Day in May.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been trying to ensure that their children’s childhoods are balanced with a feeling of normalcy, with school and family time prioritized just as they are for other children.

“Those children look pretty happy with life,” a royal insider previously told PEOPLE. “A lot of it is Kate’s stabilizing normalcy, which she grew up with. “William absolutely loves it.”

The Wales family faced a year unlike any other in 2024, when both King Charles and Princess Kate disclosed that they were receiving cancer treatment.

In an honest interview at the 2024 Earthshot Prize in Cape Town, South Africa, in November, Prince William characterized the year as the most “brutal” of his life.

“It has been horrible. It’s probably been the hardest year of my life,” the heir to the throne stated. “So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”

He then praised his wife and father for how they dealt with cancer.

“But I’m very proud of my wife and father for how they handled the situation. But from a personal family standpoint, it’s been, indeed, awful,” William explained.
