For many people, witnessing Kelly Clarkson perform live is a must-see. However, some people are fortunate enough to accomplish much more! Remember when the “Since U Been Gone” singer willingly shared the stage with Kansas Highway Patrol troopers LaMont Jackson and Mike Pagel, who stole the evening with their rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”?
The incredible moment occurred during Clarkson’s Meaning of Life Tour in 2019. The two patrolmen entered the stage in full regalia, grinning with confidence as they began their act.
Prior to LaMont Jackson and Mike Pagel’s performance of “Stand By Me,” Kelly Clarkson told concertgoers that two patrol officers’ own take on the #PoliceCarKaraoke Internet fad piqued her interest. Most video participants lip-sync songs; however, these men didn’t.
“They are keeping it genuine. “They’re keeping it alive,” the singer explained. The audience cheered when they saw a brief clip of LaMont and Pagel singing a great ’70s tune from their police cruiser.
So, watch the Kansas Highway Patrol troopers sing “Stand By Me” with Kelly Clarkson in the video below. LaMont Jackson and Mike Pagel surely looked like naturals up there.
