Costner began his professional acting career in the early 1980s, and despite being notably removed from one of his first films, “The Big Chill,” it wasn’t long before he became a household name owing to parts in “Silverado,” “The Untouchables,” “Bill Durham,” and “Field of Dreams.”

According to Forbes, the actor made $50 million in 1991 when his directorial debut, “Dances with Wolves,” won the best film and best director Academy Awards.

In the years after, Costner has been in box-office smashes such as “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” “JFK,” and “The Bodyguard,” all of which would have generously compensated the Oscar-winner actor.

In recent years, he has appeared in films such as “Hidden Figures,” “Molly’s Game,” and “Man of Steel.”

Costner has just a few television credits to his record, so it’s hardly unexpected that the actor demanded a large pay to play in Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western thriller “Yellowstone.”

According to Puck, when the Paramount Network series premiered in 2018, Costner secured a deal worth $500,000 per episode.

Because he had just signed a one-season deal, he was entitled to renegotiate his contract when the program became a hit.

As “Yellowstone” developed and became the most popular show on cable, so did Costner’s income.

The series, which is presently in its fifth season, has made the actor the highest-paid actor on television, earning $1.3 million per episode, according to Variety. Most seasons have had ten episodes, but season five (if it ever gets finished) will have fourteen.

However, Casino.org observed that gambling was down 3.5% at the time of the venue’s shutdown, implying that it wasn’t making enough income. In 2020, it was ultimately sold to a buyer.

Costner spent an undisclosed sum of money on a new audio entertainment and travel app in 2020.

The actor is listed as an investor, cofounder, and podcast narrator for Autio, an audio entertainment and immersive storytelling road-trip app that debuted in 2020 as HearHere.
