Young boy risks his life to protect younger siblings from dog…

A young boy, aged 12, is gaining praise and recognition as a hero for saving his siblings from an assault by a dangerous dog, despite the fact that the young man sustained injuries himself in the course of protecting his family.

When Deacon Ashmore, a sixth-grader, and his two sisters and brother were taking a walk in their neighborhood in Detroit, they were suddenly confronted by two vicious dogs who appeared out of nowhere.

Deacon went in front of his siblings without any hesitance in order to shield them from the dogs that were coming closer.

Both of Deacon’s dogs made a beeline towards his 5-year-old brother, his 9- and 7-year-old sisters, and some of the other children who were playing outside at the time.

Deacon sacrificed himself by stepping in front of the dogs so that his siblings and the other children could run away, but as a consequence, the dogs attacked him.

According to his mother, Elisabeth Ashmore, Deacon “jumped in front of all the other kids and made sure they could run home really fast before the dogs caught them,” which was reported by MSN News. “He made sure they could get home before the dogs got them.”

By striking the animal until it let go of his leg, Deacon was able to successfully defend himself from one of the dogs that had its teeth on his leg.

But despite the severe damage to his leg, which included a bone that was exposed and a significant amount of bleeding, there were no broken bones to report.

His mother said that the thing that worried her the most was whether or not there was any damage to his ligaments or tendons.

His father went on to say that the injury could have been a lot worse if it had been a couple of centimeters in a different direction. This is something that his father said.

In order to address the injuries he sustained as a result of the dog attack, Deacon was transported to the hospital in an ambulance and treated with anti-tetanus and anti-rabies shots before undergoing surgery.

He was held in the hospital for observation throughout the night and was discharged the following morning. It was anticipated that he would need to make use of crutches for the next few weeks.

More than $25,000 was received through a GoFundMe campaign that was created to support the family in their efforts to pay for Deacon’s medical expenses.

This assault was one of those that took place in May.

The fact that Deacon’s father indicated that his son’s primary concern was whether or not his siblings made it back home safely demonstrates how brave and selfless Deacon was when the attack was taking place.

The event demonstrates how important it is to be a responsible dog owner and how necessary it is to take action against people who let their dogs run uncontrolled and risk hurting other people.
