Even when he was a little child, Jerry Windle always had the intention of starting a family of his own and becoming a parent.
Yet, due to the fact that he did not have a partner and was gay, he frequently heard from other people that he would never be able to become a parent.
“Even those who loved me told me that if you’re going to be gay, you can’t have children of your own. “There is no way it could happen,” was his response.
Then, in the most incredible way imaginable, he demonstrated to everyone that they were incorrect in their assumptions.

Being a homosexual while also attempting to start a family in the late 1990s, when I was a young teenager, was not really an option.
Jerry expressed his opinions to the group and stated, “There was so much anger and prejudice around the notion of a homosexual person becoming a parent.”
It wasn’t until he read an article in a magazine about a man who had adopted a child from Cambodia that he stopped believing what he had been told.
After hearing it, he had a change of heart. The absence of a mother in the narrative sparked an interest in parenthood in Jerry, who had previously been averse to the idea of having children of his own.
After he saw the article, he didn’t spend any time calling the adoption agency that was mentioned in it, and when they told him that he was eligible to become a parent, he couldn’t control his pleasure!
Some months later, he found himself in an orphanage in Cambodia holding a very sick little child who was only 2 years old. The child was only 2 years old.

“I had no notion if he would live or die,” you say. “I had no clue.”
The ecstatic new father fell in love with his son the instant he laid eyes on him, despite the fact that the emaciated child weighed only 16 pounds and was battling an infection.
Even though it appeared that the odds were stacked against both of them, Jerry assured the young boy that he would assist him right then and then, despite the fact that the odds appeared to be stacked against both of them.
Jerry, in his capacity as a parent, would be willing to make any and all sacrifices that were required in order to guarantee that his offspring would have access to the extensive range of opportunities that had been lawfully bestowed upon him throughout his life.

And Jerry was a man of his word when it came to keeping that vow! His son, Jordan Windle, went on to become a member of the United States men’s diving squad that participated in the Olympic competition held in Tokyo in the year 2020.
He was the first individual of Cambodian heritage to accomplish this significant goal. [Cambodia]
The young Jordan began his preparations to take part in the Olympics when he was just seven years old.
In the two years that followed his request to his father for authorization to begin taking diving classes, he went on to win his first junior national title.
That was an extremely rare occurrence in the sport.
After Jordan had become sixteen years old, he returned to Cambodia in order to take part in a diving competition there.
On the other hand, while he was there, an unanticipated event took place.
He was greeted by a horde of media personnel who, as a result of the internet, were all familiar with Jordan.
In Cambodia, many people regard him as a kind of national hero because of his actions.
Jerry remarked, “As we got off the plane, I searched around because I thought Angelina Jolie had just gotten there or something.”
Angelina Jolie had not yet arrived. We had a strong sense that a renowned person, such as the King of Cambodia or Angelina Jolie, was present in the building.'”

Because Jordan is so proud of his history, he chose to have a tattoo of the Cambodian flag on his arm so that it would be visible while he is diving. The Cambodian flag will be visible on his arm.
Jerry stated on Good Morning America that locals in Cambodia strongly believe Jordan’s mission in coming to Cambodia was to spread light.
And Jerry is the doting father, regardless of whether or not he is a single parent, and he makes that light shine all the more brightly.
“The fact that he is my son is an additional blessing for me. I’m luckier now as a human being than I was at any point in the past because of him.
