According to rumors, Amber Heard has “quit Hollywood” to start a new life in Spain with her kid

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp was recently relaxing on his own island, Little Parrot Cay, with the widow of his buddy, Jeff Beck, and her friend Wendy, the mom of singer-actor Joss Stone.

Later this month, he’ll play at London’s Royal Albert Hall for a Jeff Beck benefit performance benefiting animal organizations, and in the summer, he’ll return to filmmaking, directing a film about the artist Modigliani.

Depp will then go on tour with his band, The Hollywood Vampires, adding to his already rigorous schedule.

Meanwhile, Amber Heard, who was found to have insulted Depp, her former spouse, has gone quiet following months of mudslinging in court.

The courts heard purported claims and counterclaims from Depp and Heard after a two-year marriage and an almost seven-year romance, which resulted in a judgment in favor of Depp.

In a 2018 column for the Washington Post, Heard addressed “se.x.ual violence” and “domestic a.b.u.se,” and although Depp’s name was not mentioned directly, he implied that his image had been tainted.

Depp, 59, filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard, alleging that her fabrications of abuse were a ploy to extract more money from him in their divorce settlement. Heard countersued for $100 million a year later, in 2020.

The jury unanimously determined that Heard’s accusations of abuse were baseless and that she wrote the op-ed with genuine malice and awarded Depp $10 million in compensation and $5 million in punishment in his defamation action. Heard received a $2 million compensation judgment and no punitive damages.

Then, Amber fell silent.

According to a Daily Mail piece from May 2023, Heard, 37, went to Europe.

Alison Boshoff, the author, explains that “Heard has left Hollywood and secretly moved to Spain with her young daughter, Oonagh.”

‘She’s multilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her kid away from all the ruckus,’ a friend added. ‘I don’t believe she’s in any rush to return to work or to Hollywood, but she’ll most likely return when the time is perfect for the right project,’ says one source.

The Aquaman actress was seen on the streets of Madrid on April 28 amid speculation that she has relocated to the Spanish city permanently.

Heard sold her Yucca Valley, California, house for $1.1 million last year, almost double what she paid after the court’s verdict.

She is said to have leased a property on the island of Majorca in October, when she was sighted on a beach with her partner, Eve Barlow, who is now working as a writer in Los Angeles. It’s unknown if the couple is still together.

“At Christmas, Barlow appeared to suggest they had split when she posted an essay on Substack saying she was searching for optimism at the end of a life-altering year,” writes Boshoff. ‘Today I was reminded of a great line from a Khalil Gibran poem about why strength must be renourished and rejuvenated in ourselves, sometimes alone,’ she wrote.

According to Boshoff, Heard is now living with Oonagh, 2, in a new house outside of Madrid. The mother has kept Oonagh, her surrogate child, out of the limelight.

Heard is most known for her role as Mera, the princess of Xebel, in DC Comics’ Aquaman (2018), which she reprised with Jason Momoa in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which will be published in December of this year. It was Heard’s last role before fleeing to Europe.

Depp doesn’t feel the need to leave Hollywood, and we’re glad to know he’ll be back on set soon!
