Adele has officially responded to the engagement rumors surrounding her relationship with sports businessman Rich Paul!

During a concert in Munich, Germany, on August 9, the Grammy-winning singer, 36, reacted to a fan who asked for her hand in marriage. A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing her waving her left hand and saying, “I can’t marry you because I’m already married.”

Adele didn’t seem to be wearing a ring, but last month, while out with Paul in London, photos showed her sporting a pear-shaped diamond on her ring finger.

The news follows months of rumors that she will marry Paul.

“I’ve never been in love like this,” Adele told Elle about Paul in August 2022. “I’m obsessed with him.”

The “Easy on Me” singer and Paul, CEO of the sports agency KLUTCH Sports Group, initially ignited dating rumors in July 2021 when they were spotted enjoying an NBA Finals game courtside together.

Despite the pair’s frequent basketball outings, this was their first photo together, and they officially joined Instagram in September.

In an October interview with Vogue, Adele stated that she met Paul years ago at a party and was enthralled by his enthusiasm.

“I was a little inebriated. I said, “Do you want to sign me?” “I’m an athlete now,” she recalled. “He was dancing.” The rest of the guys were just sitting around. He was simply dancing away.

The singer also lauded her boyfriend in a November 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired at her CBS program Adele One Night Only.

“He’s hilarious. Oh, yes, he’s amusing. And incredibly intelligent. You know, he’s pretty brilliant.” It’s quite incredible watching him do what he does,” she added, explaining that their relationship was the first time she’d “loved myself and been open to loving and being loved by another.”

The duo ignited engagement speculations in February 2022 when Adele wore a big sparkler on her ring finger at the BRIT Awards, but she was cautious about the jewelry’s meaning during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show a few days later.

“As if I would ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t [engaged],” she muttered. “It’s lovely though, isn’t it?”

Adele announced in August 2022 that she was “absolutely” open to marrying again and wanted to extend her family.

“I want to have more kids,” she told Elle. “I’m a homemaker and matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music.”

Paul turned 41 in December and celebrated by attending Adele’s Las Vegas residency concert, where she serenaded him with “Happy Birthday.”

The woman said, “I love you more than life itself—we wish you a happy birthday.”

In May, a source told PEOPLE that the couple’s “relationship is solid,” adding that they “help each other and are good partners,” and that Adele “loves being with him.”

Representatives for Adele and Paul did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
