For many, the prospect of meeting their hero, or simply a celebrity they like, is a strange concept that fills them with both excitement and trepidation. One fan, a teenage singer playing in a Canadian mall, was about to have the surprise of her life when Ed Sheeran joined her in the middle of her performance of his immediate favorite, «Thinking of You.»

Sydney Bourbeau, 13, was performing at a benefit for the Edmonton Humane Society, where she sang Ed Sheeran’s modern love ballad in front of a big crowd. Sydney maintains her calm despite being stage-rushed by a British celebrity and continues her cover while Sheeran harmonizes with her. Check out the fantastic video below:
