Elleigh Marie’s performance on American Idol 2024 will make you tear up

Elleigh Marie, a 20-year-old cosmetologist from American Fork, Utah, won over fans and judges with her poignant performance of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” on American Idol 2024. This young musician has the potential to be the next major thing in the United States, as her performance unveiled her hidden abilities and goals.

The judges were taken aback upon discovering Elleigh’s hometown. Luke Bryan claimed that the town must be quite patriotic, and with a name like American Fork, Utah, it’s simple to understand why! The judges, on the other hand, took a liking to tiny Elleigh after learning that her parents are in the Air Force and her mother is a singer. As she entered the world of professional music, her performance was emotional, genuine, and a reflection of her inner power. You may find the video below.

Before Elleigh plays, we learn about her family. Elleigh recounts the challenges she faced in tending to her ailing mother during her father’s absence in the Air Force. Elleigh had a lot of responsibility for someone her age, given that her mother had renal and thyroid illnesses and her father was away on duty. Even though she is stronger as a result of this, it is unfortunate that she has had to endure so much.

Aside from being one of Bonnie Raitt’s most successful songs, “I Can’t Make You Love Me” is an excellent example of female-led American blues. Since 1971, the singer-songwriter has published several songs, including the classic “Love Me Like a Man” (1971) and “Angel From Montgomery” (1974). Everyone may find something to enjoy on her delicate, roots-inspired albums. Watch the video below to hear it firsthand.
