Despite efforts to address the issue, there are still some parents who worry about feeding their infants since baby formula is still in limited supply across the country.
When it comes to finding their kids the formula they so sorely need, many parents are under a lot of stress, and one Indiana mother is hoping to lessen some of it. Sadly, she and her family have paid a terrible price for her deed of generosity.
All of the infant formula Shelby Duggan-Meltzer bought for her twin boys will be donated. Sadly, before they were Fourteen weeks old, they both passed away unexpectedly.
On February 14, 2022, Forrest and Foster, who were called “little perfect bundles of joy,” were born.
Shelby described her boys as being flawless in every aspect.
However, Foster died from SIDS at the age of just one month.
She told WRTV, “You never ever imagine that you are going to conduct CPR on your 30-day-old baby.”
It was a tragic loss.
Shelby used to nurse her children, but after Foster passed away, she began using formula.
But Forrest also passed away unexpectedly just only several months after his brother. The coroner discovered that Forrest had pneumonia despite just going to the doctor.
Shelby had a dilemma as she grieved the loss of her infant sons: what to do with all the formula she had bought but now had no use for.
She came to the conclusion that it would be preferable to donate all of her extra cans of infant formula to those parents who were still having trouble finding some for their children.
They cans I purchased 15 cans at $35 each, she remarked. “Someone else is a little relieved, even though it hurts me within.”
Everything was done in honor of her twin boys.
Shelby’s twins may be no longer with her, but she wants her story to serve as a reminder to parents to cherish the time they have with their kids.
Just give your babies a big embrace since time is running out and you never know when they’ll be gone.
Shelby’s plight tears my heart. The pain of losing one kid, then another, in such a short period of time is beyond my ability to even begin to comprehend.
Please remember Shelby and all those who cherished Forrest and Foster in your prayers and join us in doing so.
