Lucie Ball, the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, shares unique photo of her brother Desi Jr. ‘Alive and well’

Desi Arnaz Jr., Lucille Ball’s son, is making a rare appearance on social media.

On Saturday, August 3, Lucie Arnaz, 73, posed with her brother, 71, in two Instagram photographs published within a carousel of images as the two attended a family dinner while in Las Vegas for STLV: The 58-Year Mission.

In one photo, Lucie tenderly rested her head on Desi Jr.’s shoulder, her hands encircling his arm. Another photo captured them both glancing at the camera.

Lucie, who is the daughter of late I Love Lucy actors Ball and Desi Arnaz, as well as her brother, thanked her husband Laurence Luckinbill’s son Nick for taking them to a “grand meal at Wally’s,” she said in the caption.

“With our special guest, my stubborn brother Desi Arnaz Jr.!” Desi is alive and well, my friends; he simply loves to stay a little ‘undercover,'” Lucie remarked.

The Treksperts Convention is honoring Larry during the 35th Anniversary of Star Trek V Celebration this weekend. He portrayed Spock’s brother, Sybok, in that film and, with his book recently out, is a very special visitor here,” the caption said, referring to Laurence’s part in 1989’s Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

Lucie said of her husband, who published his book Affective Memories: How Chance and the Theater Saved My Life in April, “He’ll be taking photos, selling and signing books, and speaking on two panels.”

Other images showed her posing with acquaintances, including Vegas star Clint Holmes and his wife Kelly, Maximillian Von Anhalt, and Sunny Sessa.

“I ran away to Caesar’s and Joe’s Seafood to join the indefatigable Sunny Sessa, her lovely Max, and our friends Clint and Kelly Holmes for some interesting chat and a few wicked desserts!”! “What smart, interesting, funny, involved, talented, and lovable friends and family do I have?” Lucie ended, using various hashtags to commemorate the occasion.

Desi Jr. has kept himself out of the spotlight in recent years, following the loss of his wife, Amy Arnaz, from cancer on January 23, 2015. She was 63.

Meanwhile, Lucie and Desi Jr.’s parents split in 1960, and despite initial difficulties, the two remained close.

“They loved each other until the end,” Lucie told PEOPLE in 2022, referring to Lucille and Desi, who died in 1989 and 1986, respectively.

Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem played the Hollywood power couple, and the family’s lifestyles were also investigated in the documentary Lucy and Desi, produced by Amy Poehler and published the following year in 2022.
