Joshua Edwards has been without his Rottweiler, Duke, for eight years. When Duke vanished from Joshua’s yard, he was around a year old. Joshua looked and looked but soon gave up, fearing Duke had been taken. He assumed he’d never see his pet again.

Until last week, when he received a call from a pet microchip firm informing him that a dog named Duke had been registered to him. Joshua was initially perplexed. Whose dog is it? However, Joshua discovered that a lady had discovered the 9-year-old dog wandering the streets and had taken him to an animal hospital, where the microchip revealed Joshua’s contact information.

Joshua headed to the hospital and impatiently awaited Duke’s arrival. After so many years, he wasn’t sure what to expect.
