This boy’s rendition of ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ will take you back in time

Performing in front of an audience is not an effortless task. It’s difficult enough to sing in front of a crowd in your own language; picture doing the same in a foreign one! However, Mateusz Ziolko of Poland is particularly talented in that area. This participant from The Voice Poland is comfortable singing in English. It comes easily for him. And now his rendition of “When a Man Loves a Woman” has gone viral on the web.

Few people are aware that “When a Man Loves a Woman” was the result of a heated discussion between Calvin Lewis, Andrew Wright, and Percy Sledge, the three men who are credited with creating it.

The initial riff came about while Andrew Wright was playing around with his organ before a Friday night dance performance. They then worked on the melody and lyrics for several weeks. Percy subsequently claimed he deserved a share of the credit, despite Calvin and Andrew receiving authorship credit for the song.

Despite the chaos, the classic’s appeal has endured over time. It is still popular, and many musicians have covered it to this day. Mateusz’s rendition is one of the best available. Watch the excellent audition below and drop us a Facebook comment to let us know what you think!
