When a guy delivers pizza to a residence and sees a lady inside, mouthing “Call the cops”, he does something unexpected…

Most individuals go about their daily lives without expecting anything unusual or spectacular to happen. So, naturally, when a Domino’s employee stepped up to a house one day to deliver a pizza, the last thing he anticipated was that he would wind up saving a life.

Joey Grundl, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver from Waldo, Wisconsin, was having a typical day delivering pizzas.
When he rang the doorbell at a woman’s residence, a guy named Dean Hoffman opened the door to accept the pie. During this time, Grundl became aware of a middle-aged woman’s wordless call for assistance. Grundl noticed her black eye and quickly caught on as she mouthed, “Call the police.”

Grundl recalls the pivotal moment he spotted the woman’s quiet request for help in an interview with FOX 6.

“It’s a little frightening. I handed him his pizza and observed his girlfriend standing behind him. She pointed to a prominently noticeable black eye. ” She mouthed the words, “Call the police.'”

When Grundl saw the woman, you’d assume he’d try to communicate back, ask a question, or at least create a confrontation, but thankfully, the attentive and quick-thinking pizza delivery driver continued to behave carelessly and completed the deal.

Grundl immediately returned to his car and contacted the police to report what he had just observed.

When the cops arrived, Dean Hoffman tried to barricade the entrance at first but finally allowed them in. When they saw the beaten woman, they transported her to the hospital and arrested Hoffman.

The 57-year-old victim describes how it all began.
She and Hoffman began dating in 2016 and lived together until August of this year. She relocated to a separate house after they split up. Hoffman entered her house without knocking a month later. She ordered him to go as she dialed 911, but Hoffman snatched the phone from her, yanked her by the waist, and hauled her upstairs, according to her.

She further recalled Hoffman pushing her and causing her to fall down the steps. He then yanked her hair, ripped her clothes, and tried to take her upstairs again. The victim attempted to flee by striking him in the crotch. Hoffman hit her in the face, leaving her with a bleeding nose and a black eye. He then dragged her upstairs and bound her hands and ankles with a vacuum cleaner power wire. He then shoved a cloth in her mouth to keep her quiet.

We can only speculate on how she persuaded Hoffman to untie her.

Fortunately, her instincts told her to approach Grundl for assistance when he came.
Grundl’s timing could not have been better. Police were able to rescue the lady and arrest the domestic abuser thanks to the woman’s and Grundl’s quick thinking.

Grundl’s brave gesture was widely broadcast on television. He was seen in videos sporting a sweatshirt from Taylor Swift’s Reputation tour. Taylor Swift’s followers reacted quickly, tagging her in images and videos of the hero. Grundl had already purchased tickets to Swift’s Washington gig, but when Swift realized what he had done, she agreed to see him backstage after the show.

It takes more than tickets and a meet-and-greet to reward a hero for his bravery, but Grundl seemed overjoyed with the unexpected surprise.

Grundl certainly didn’t intend to save a life while delivering pizzas, but he’s lucky he was there that day. An interview with Domino’s hero may be found in the video below!
